PORTLAND ace Darren Anstey claimed his second world title with a stunning first-round stoppage of Romelleo Da Silva in Yeovil.

Anstey took the Infinity Full On crown, contested under full Thai boxing rules, with a devastating performance against the man from Amsterdam’s famous Mike’s Gym.

The bout was a rematch of last year’s Total Full Contact K1 world championship showdown which Anstey also won.

Anstey, who fights out of the Weymouth Martial Arts Centrebased King Tiger club, dominated from the start with huge punches and kicks.

A barrage of elbows left Da Silva cut, dazed and in no fit condition to continue.

King Tiger chief instructor Tom Ashe said: “Darren wanted to prove the first fight wasn’t a fluke and show everybody how much he’d improved since then.

“And I think he did just that with a dominant display of controlled aggression.

“This was his 14th stoppage in 15 wins since joining the King Tiger club and his seventh title overall.”

After the bout, Anstey thanked his team at King Tiger and sponsors Keith Adams of JW Scaffolding and Dan Milverton of Future Physiques Gym.

On the undercard, debutant Jonny Hawkins scored a sensational knockout win but there were losses for Dan Curtin and Shah Mohammed.
