WEYMOUTH face their toughest competition in the club’s history on Sunday.

The squad will take on four of the English National League's Super 8 teams at the American School in Egham, Surrey.

Also in attendance will be three Division One squads making the tournament the strongest pre-season event in the country.

If the squad come through this match they will almost certainly qualify for a tournament semi-final slot.

In the other half of the draw, Wessex, Surrey Orcas (both Super 8) fight it out with Division One outfits Worthing and Hertfordshire.

Weymouth also have the services of German former Weymouth and Wessex outside attack player Ramona Dienel.

She is flying in especially for the tournament from her host club Berlin.

With the disbandment of Swiss Cottage, Weymouth have attracted four of their former players and it now looks certain that the club will enter the 2016/17 National Knockout Cup with a very realistic chance of reaching the latter stages of the competition.

Weymouth are also looking to start training in the town on a monthly basis with elite players aiming to assist up and coming local women develop their game.
