WILLIAM Fox-Pitt has picked up a silver medal at the FEI European Eventing Championships in Scotland as Great Britain finished second behind Germany in the team competition.
The Germans were clear champions thanks to the form of individual winner Michael Jung and runner-up Sandra Auffarth.
They finished with 122.70 faults, Britain had 173.30 and third-placed France recorded 183.70.
Individually, it was not a great championships for Sturminster Newton’s Fox-Pitt.
He had to retire mount Bay My Hero after the cross country stage of the event yesterday.
