FORMER All Saints School pupil Amber Davies has been selected to represent England Under-19s in the Northern European Volleyball Zonal Association Championships, to be held in Ikast, Denmark later this month.

Having earned her spot in the national ranks, the teenager will now join up with the 11 other England squad members for a two-day holding and training camp at the National Volleyball Centre ahead of the main event.

Davies began training with the Volleyball England (VE) junior squad in November 2014 and this is her first representative selection since joining the set up.

She attends monthly junior squad training camps at the National Volleyball Centre in Kettering as part of the Volleyball England Talent Pathway Programme.

Davies, currently ranked number one in the VE Beach Tour junior women’s national rankings, had a successful beach campaign.

This included a number of semi and quarter-final finishes, as well as being a losing finalist in Weymouth and a winner in Margate.

She recently returned to the junior indoor squad from the beach tour for a ‘high peaks’ training camp.

Davies will also feature for the LeAF Academy at indoor junior volleyball competitions this season, and for Wessex Ladies in the National League.
