ANTHONY Honeyball’s impressive run of winners continued at Plumpton as The Geegeez Geegee won the Sicame Amateur Riders’ Handicap Hurdle.

Going off as a 7-2 shot, Honeyball’s charge got the better of second-placed Laughton Park by three-quarters of a length to give the Mosterton handler his second win in as many days.

Speaking about the six-year old’s third career win, Honeyball said on his official website: “I was delighted to see The Geegeez Geegee return to winning ways at Plumpton on Monday after some luckless runs at the end of last season.

“One moment he was four lengths clear. The next four runners were closing fast on him at the final flight.

“I liked the way he then rallied to claim victory by three-quarters of a length from Laughton Park.

“I wasn’t surprised to see him looking around once he was in front. That’s just the way he is but once he was challenged he began to go clear again.

“There’s no question that the Geegeez Geegee is genuine. He travelled with lots of exuberance, was much more switched on after his first run of the season and coped well with the soft ground at Plumpton. So he could well be out again sooner rather than later.”

The Geegeez Geegee joins stablemates Lily Waugh and Anda de Grissay as a winner for Honeyball’s yard in the last week.
