SIXTY men turned out for Sunday’s Bridport & West Dorset Golf Club’s 16-hole November Stableford.

The top scores in all three divisions were remarkably similar and all hovering round the par mark. Top score of the day came from Division One where Barry O’Mahony carded 33 points with Marc Harwood close behind on 32.

The best total in both other divisions was 32 points and, after countback, Dave Travers won Division Two and Larwence Turner claimed Division Three.

The weather was dull with drizzle in the air but at least it was mild and with only a little wind. The groundsmen have left a decent covering on the fairways for the winter making distance a little difficult and this may account for the fact there were no runaway scores.

RESULTS:

Division One: 1 Barry O’Mahony (11) 33 points, 2 Marc Harwood (12) 32, 3 Kevin Jones (8) 29.

Division Two: 1 (acb) Dave Travers (14) 32 points, 2 Ian Kearley (13) 32, 3 Robert Harding (16) 31.

Division Three: 1 Larwence Turner (21) 32 points, 2 (acb) Russell Weller (26) 30, 3 Peter Johnston (22) 30.
