WEYMOUTH Rowing Club’s boatshed consultation held over the Easter weekend was a great success.
Hundreds of people visited the existing shed to look at the architect’s plans for the new building and join members in discussion over the plans, and also enjoyed the refreshments supplied by the club.
The response was very positive and the club was very happy with this as there has been a lot of hard work taken to get to this point.
The club intends to submit planning application by the end of May.
Cllr Ian Bruce commented on the proposed building and said: “I am absolutely convinced that the council members will wish the project to go ahead and we will be working with all the officers and the Harbour Master to make sure this becomes one of the jewels in the crown of Weymouth.”
A club spokesman added: “A great thanks to club members for attending and more details can be found on the club website weymouthrowingclub.co.uk under latest news.”
