PORTLAND swim star Jay Lelliott secured his second third-place finish in two days, as he put in a strong performance to claim bronze during the Men’s 200m butterfly final at the British Swimming Championships.
Lelliott, who held the lead going into the final 50 metres of the finale at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow, was just pipped by eventual winner Adam Mallett and second-place finisher Mark Szaranek.
The former Tornadoes of South Dorset youngster, who finished fastest in qualifying for the final earlier in the day, swam a time of one minute 58.32 seconds in the final, three-tenths of a second behind eventual winner Mallett.
