YOUNG Weymouth motocross rider Tyler Groves was on top form when he raced with Ringwood Motocross Club at Monkton Wyld.

Tyler, 17, who is sponsored by the Self Storage Company and Full Throttle Motorcycles, has moved up to the adult class this season and is now racing alongside his dad, Steve Groves, in the same group.

Competing alongside more experienced riders has not fazed the youngster at all and he has shown them his blistering pace right from the off.

In the third round of the club championship, Tyler dominated the group by winning all three races. He has won in previous seasons in the youth classes but this was the first time he has ever taken a maximum and won all three of the day’s races.

Race one was a hard-fought battle through the field but Tyler took the lead with only two laps to go and pulled clear to secure the win. The second race saw him take to the front on the first lap and gain a clear lead before taking the finish flag again.

The third race was not so easy and saw him pushed hard by the other front runners determined not to let him get away again, but, despite staying close to his back wheel, they could not better the flying teenager and he took another victory to complete the hat-trick.
