NEW BODY 51

CRESTA LEISURE 28

WITH accurate and timeless shooting New Body’s Emily Conning and Annie Usher ensured their team were in a winning position from the off.

Smooth and fast-paced play around the court seemed to overcome Cresta in the first quarter despite some good defensive movement from Lucy Astrid.

New Body continued with their confident play in the second quarter with excellent mid-court play and good feeding into the shooters.

As the quarter progressed so did Cresta’s determination, this saw Claire May and Jayne Guppy working well together and helping their team close the gap.

New Body maintained their position throughout the final quarter, and despite some high quality netball from either side they took the win convincingly.

Division Two

OTC 53

CAFÉ OASIS 13

OTC were quick off the mark, determined to continue their unbeaten record this season.

With on-point shooting from Emma Mills and superb cross-court play in the centre third, they managed to leave Café Oasis with little opportunities to keep up.

Café Oasis’ GD Chloe Calton worked really well in the second quarter, fighting for every ball in the circle.

This prevented OTC from running even further away however at the other end of the court her team just couldn’t seem to find the net.

Bryony White came in to her own in the third, making a fearful dynamic duo in the shooting circle for OTC, and despite being there waiting for the rebounds, Café Oasis defence found themselves helpless as the girls just couldn’t miss the target.

Despite fighting up until the final whistle Café Oasis just didn’t seem to be a match for OTC on this occasion.

Division Two

BASEPOINT 35

DORSET COUNTY 32

THE game started evenly with Basepoint working hard in the centre court to make up for being a player down.

Good feeding into the circle from Basepoint’s Zoe Fowler was matched evenly by strong interceptions from Dorset’s GD Bryony Davies meaning the quarter ended close with Basepoint only leading by two goals.

Dorset County continued with their hard work in the second quarter with great movement and shooting from Jade Carroll, however Basepoint’s experience enabled them to begin to develop a greater lead.

Excellent play from Halle Patterson and Sam Warren saw

Basepoint build a convincing lead. Not be deterred by this

Dorset came back again, improving the tempo of their play and scoring effortlessly to end the quarter head to head, 27 goals each.

Hard work by both team’s defence meant the attackers had to fight for every goal.

Despite continued determination from Dorset County, Basepoint edged ahead to be the eventual winners in this closely matched game.

Division One

OJO’S 25

TEAM WAIKIKI 25

DESPITE excellent movement and feeding from Waikiki’s Jo Baldwin, Ojo’s managed to take the first quarter due to fast movement and excellent passes from Rebecca Drake into her shooters.

Both teams defence were working well to keep the ball out of the circle but it were Ojo’s who capitalised better of the chances they were given.

Kicking up the gear, Waikiki came out fighting with effortless goals from Cristal Butcher and Katy Leneshan.

Continued hard work by Waikiki’s defence meant that Ojo’s struggled to find the net, allowing Waikiki to take the lead.

Great umpiring allowed the game to flow and by the time the quarter had ended, Waikiki still led by three goals.

Ojo’s came out determined not to be the losing side in the closing stage of the game, with two long shots from Mandy Grafton putting them straight back in the running for the points.

Continual good play from both teams in the centre third meant this game could have gone either way, however, at the final whistle it ended in a draw.
