THIS Sunday sees the Jurassic Coast Raptors play the second home game of their debut season in the British American Football Leagues South Western Conference.

The Dorchester-based side take on the Cornish Sharks who currently sit mid-table with a 3-2 record.

Last time the two teams met in Newquay, the Raptors were comprehensively beaten 49-12.

This time around with a long rest and some players returning from injury, the county town team are confident they can put in a better performance.

With the Sharks’ physical running game and their aggressive defence against the Raptors’ open and balanced offense, it is sure to be a feast of football for those who come to watch.

Head coach Bill Heinrich added: “Our first home game against Oxford was fantastically well attended and I’m sure with more than 150 fans showing their support by cheering the team on we can get our first win”

The Dorchester Rugby Club venue at Coburg Road promises a great afternoon of free entertainment with the bar open and food available.

There will also be an NFL T-shirt giveaway for the first 25 fans to attend and the team plan to have ambassadors available to explain the rules.

The game kicks off at 2.30pm.
