TRAINER Colin Tizzard was out of luck with both Cue Card and Native River at Wetherby, but the Sherborne handler enjoyed better fortunes at Ascot on Saturday.
Quite By Chance (8-1) gained the most significant success of his career in the Listed Byrne Group Handicap Chase.
The Tizzard-trained seven-year-old, ridden by Tom O’Brien, drew clear before the last flight before running home strongly to triumph.
He got home by a comfortable six lengths ahead of Noche De Reyes in second and third-placed Festive Affair.
Quite By Chance’s victory landed his connections a considerable £34,170 in prize money.
