THOMAS Carney, 14, has maintained his ranking of third in the country in his age group after finishing third out of 27 in the British National Championships.
The All Saints School pupil also won a bronze in the pairs competition.
Carney moves up to the under-17s junior category next year so he had the opportunity to also compete in this event after getting through to the final where he finished fifth, which is a fantastic achievement.

A spokesperson for the youngster, said: “We are raising money at the moment for next year’s competitions and training will be in France in January.
“We have been donated two hampers, one from Tesco and another from Morrisons.
“The Tesco hamper was presented to Thomas by team leader Jenna Hayesr, Debbie Hill and the store manager Sue Brinsdon.
“The second one from Morrisons was presented by Chrissy Priddice.
“We are selling numbers between 1-300 at £1 each and will be drawing two numbers on Friday”
