IT WAS a great end to a thrilling season for Weymouth rider Tyler Groves when he finished top of the podium as champion of Ringwood Motocross Club’s Adult B group.

In what was his first year racing in an adult class, Groves, who turned 18 in August, dominated the group throughout the season taking race wins in every round against fierce competition and in some very close racing.

This was also a special season for Tyler and his dad Steve Groves as it will probably be the one and only season that they will be in the same group and racing against each other, a very rare thing for a father and son to achieve.

October saw Tyler compete in the crowd-pleasing spectacular of the Weymouth Beach Race where, having finished fifth in the junior group last year, he was moved up to the seniors.

Groves fought hard to battle not only nearly 80 other riders but also the difficult and demanding sand track itself and his effort were justly rewarded with a top-10 finish.

Tyler would like to thank the Self Storage Company for their support throughout the year and also South Coast Motorcycles and is looking forward to next season when he will again be riding with the Ringwood club aiming for more success.
