LEE Turle was crowned king of the oche after winning the men’s singles prize at Portland’s Christmas open competition.

There was £1,400 of prize money on offer at the event, which saw 70 men and ladies from across Dorset compete at the Conservative Club.

Turle beat Lee Williams in the men’s competition, while Sam Kirton scooped the ladies’ prize after overcoming Abbie Northover.

Organiser Andy Masters said: “I would like to thank all the sponsors who supported the event and hopefully this will get the venue and South Dorset back on the darts map.”

The main sponsors of the event were South Portland Conservative Club and Ian Burden Butchers.
