WILDCATS’ co-promoter James Tresadern is eyeing glory when the club get back on track once again next month, after they confirmed their seven-man line-up for a challenge meeting on the Isle of Wight.
The Bryn Williams Celebration meeting, set to be contested between the Wildcats and the Isle of Wight Warriors, is set to take place on the island club’s track on Thursday, April 20.
Weymouth, who were heavily beaten when the sides met last season, confirmed their side this week, which includes the likes of skipper Matt Bates, Matt Williamson, Kelsey Dugard, Rob Shuttleworth, Mark Baseby, Kyle Bickley and Kenny Bowdery.
Asked for his thoughts on the side he and fellow promoter Martin Peters had assembled, Tresadern told Echosport: “We have worked really hard to get this squad of guys together and even a couple of the lads in the squad think that, if this was a full National League team, it would go through the season pretty well.
“We are hoping to go over there and bring a trophy back. It would be nice to win a trophy and showcase Weymouth speedway a bit more.
He added: “Last year we were one man down and we got a good kicking and we don’t want a repeat of that.
“All in all we are hoping that we are going to go over and give a decent showing.
“Obviously we are hoping that the weather is going to be decent and with what the Isle of Wight are doing we want to put on a decent show.”
