TEAM BATH BUCCS II 2

WEYMOUTH LADIES 2

WEYMOUTH Ladies signed off with a spirited draw in their final match in the Premier Division 2B.

The visitors had already been relegated going into the final game, and will be pleased with the nature of their performance.

Weymouth were under the cosh for the 20 minutes and it was no surprise when Team Bath converted a strike from the top of the circle, closely followed by a well-rehearsed corner routine to take a 2-0 lead.

But the recently relegated side came back into the game just before half-time and were rewarded when Susie Stone took advantage of a free hit outside the circle, taking it early before dribbling into the D and striking into the roof of the net.

The second half was more evenly matched with chances at both ends. Another great interception by central defender Alice Craven created a counter attack, as Craven coolly passed to Jacqui Ridlar who played a great ball through to Lynda Drewitt on the left wing.

Drewitt spotted forward Emily Austin running through on goal and placed a perfectly weighted pass leaving Austin to place it into the goal with the goalkeeper nowhere to be seen.
