GIRLING & BOWDITCH 41

CAFÉ OASIS 15

IN the first match of the summer season, both teams took the court with high hopes but it was Girling & Bowditch who earned the first points of the campaign.

Café Oasis C, Jane Snarey, pulled out some remarkable interceptions to win the ball back for her team, but Oasis failed to convert these opportunities.

An injury to Café Oasis WD meant an early substitution and left Oasis floundering, allowing Girling & Bowditch to take an early lead.

The second and third periods saw Girling increase their lead. Café Oasis started to pull it back in the third quarter but Girling’s WD Emma Bowditch worked tirelessly to intercept balls.

Chloe Calton, GK for Café Oasis, collected every rebound in an effort to get the ball back to her shooters, but it was not enough to bridge the gap.

The final period saw Girling & Bowditch continue to stretch their lead, despite an injury. Café Oasis showed great team spirit but in the end it was a comfortable win for Girling & Bowditch.
