THE Weymouth & District League end-of-season presentation night returned to the Ocean Room at Weymouth Pavilion after a gap of nine years.

The evening started with a minute’s silence in memory of those involved in the Manchester bombings.

It was as you were in the Ladies’ Division as Wyke Orbits retained the title and Wyke Social Yo-Yo’s again were runners-up.

In the Ladies’ Knockout Cup final, All Sorts beat Wyke Orbits by just four pins in a last-hand decider on Weymouth Working Men’s Club.

Pinups took the Division One trophy for the umpteenth time, this year they held a massive gap of 11 points between them and Park St Stars, who finished once more runners-up.

Weymouth Wanderers retained the Knockout Cup by beating WWMC Vikings by 35 pins at Wyke Smugglers.

Wyke Social Yo-Yo’s consolation prize saw them take the Treasurer’s Cup, while Balti Red Cats were runners-up.

In the men’s equivalent, the Secretary’s Cup, there was an upset with Globetrotters from Division Three beating WWMC Donuts from the top tier at Wyke WM Club by 10 pins.

The ladies’ pairs crown went to Drifters’ duo Tina Squibb and Julie Wilson who overcame last year’s runners-up Sam Mutch of Wyke Orbits and Georgia Williams of Wyke Robins.

In the men’s pairs competition, Neil Winspear and Jason Pring of Park St Stars triumphed over Barry Druitt and Rich Freeman of Pinups.

The brother/sister partnership of Julie Walker (Conbows) and Tony Hill (Legionaires) beat Sam Mutch (Wyke Orbits) and Greg Black (United) in the mixed pairs competition.

Georgia Williams also collected the Division One spoon as the only representative of Wyke Robins.

Ian Ferguson of the main sponsor, Weyline Taxis, presented the trophies.
