WEYMOUTH Wildcats co-promoter James Tresadern believes his outfit has a “competitive team” as they travel to Plymouth Demons in their final Southern Development League fixtures of the season tonight.

The Wildcats have struggled to fulfil their full quota of four riders at times this campaign, but they are set to field Craig Nethercott, Stephen Whitehouse, Stevie Anderson and captain Mick Sutton for the St Boniface Arena clash.

Weymouth know a victory will help them avoid last place in the league standings and exact revenge on the Demons for a narrow 18-17 loss last time out.

Tresadern told Echosport: “We’re hoping to win to avenge the one-point deficit we had in the last meeting. It’s looking alright, we’ve got a competitive team.

“We’re grateful to Exeter because we’ve got three of their riders. Mick wasn’t in our squad but this will be his fifth meeting.

“It makes a change to have four riders and not worry about trying to make up the numbers.”
