WEYMOUTH women’s team will make the trip around the M25 today as part of a week-long tour, where they face a tough looking task against Essex Trinity at the Boswell's School in Chelmsford.

Essex play in Division One of the English National League and have recently appointed former England international coach Ian Legrand.

The team will also face matches against London Polonia, London Orcas, Hertfordshire and Reading later in the week.

Weymouth will be travelling with a new-look squad with a lot of new players arriving at the side who normally play in the May to September summer season.

The starting line-up will be sisters Ailsa and Ilona McDonald who are both are young at 20 and 18 and have come through the England junior ranks and during the summer they paired up and entered the Weymouth Beach Classic, eventually being knocked out in the latter stages of the competition by winner Denise Austin.

Making her first appearance for the club will be setter Maddie Nutt who is also an England junior while the middle attack will be made up of the pairing of Dianne Schmidt and Polish Angelika Sierjiej.
