TOM Gardiner produced a stunning performance to overcome G Sparrow as Dorset ABA clashed with Cornwall ABA in Newquay.
The Portland ABC member put on a workmanlike show against his opponent and was never in trouble throughout the bout despite Sparrow's best attempts to unsettle him.
In fact Gardiner did not waste a single punch and was a clear winner come the end, causing many to describe the display as one of his best yet.
Also representing Dorset and Portland was Dorset Echo printer Marcin Foyt, who came up against Newquay's Anthony McKellar.
Foyt started the brighter of the two and used his left jab to good effect but his Cornwall adversary was not to be outdone as he responded with some clever counter-punching.
Both boxers continued to give their all and despite only having just started out on the amateur scene the atmosphere failed to faze them.

By the third round both began to tire but they continued to go toe-to-toe with Foyt coming very close to stopping McKellar with a flurry of blows.
The crowd showed their appreciation for both men's efforts but it was Foyt whose hand was raised by the referee.
Weymouth's Sean Brady was also in action at the event. He took on T Henderson and despite being behind after the first round his superior fitness showed as the bout went on.
In fact in the final round Brady looked as bright as a button as he landed some fine shots to claim the win on points.
Portland coach Vince Ealson was full of praise for Gardiner, Foyt and Brady.
He said: "All three are a credit to Weymouth and Portland. Our local
rivalry was put aside for the county with both sides travelling down together and sharing the same hotel and it turned out to be a fantastic show."
