TODAY is a huge day for sport in the area with four crucial clashes kicking-off at 3pm.

Dorchester Town require a win against Thurrock at the Jewson Stadium to boost their Blue Square South survival hopes while Dorset Premier League leaders Portland United will be hoping to increase their advantage at the top-of-the-table with victory over second-placed Gillingham Town at Grove Corner.

This afternoon will also see Chickerell United attempt to secure the Dorset Senior League title with victory over Bournemouth University at Weymouth College and Dorchester RFC try and boost their chances of beating the drop in Southern Counties South at Coburg Road against title contenders Wootton Bassett.

The day will then close with Weymouth Doonan Wildcats' Season Launch at the Wessex Stadium (5.30pm) where fans will be able to meet the riders, get their autographs, and see them in action on the circuit.
