GOLDEN GIRLS: Serita Shone, centre, with her victorious GB team-mates
WEYMOUTH'S Serita Shone helped the Great Britain Under-20 team to victory at the International Pentathlon in Paris.
In placing fourth overall, the combined events athlete set a new personal best score of 3663 points.
Shone's long jump of 5.71m, one of her best ever, saw her claim third spot there before going one better to finish second in the shot putt with 10.98m.
Meanwhile, in other indoor events, Shone threw 11.03m to take shot putt second in an inter-varsity meeting and claimed fifth in the long jump (5.54m) and seventh in the shot (10.80m) at the British Universities Championships.
Weymouth javelin expert Jemma Tewkesbury led the new UK Under-20 ranking list with a throw of 38.38m at a floodlit meeting in Yeovil.
Tewkesbury, in her first season at under-20 level, then left that score in the shade at the Bournemouth AC Open Meeting with three throws over 40 metres - her best being 42.47m which is well over the Power of Ten national elite standard for under-20 athletes.
