FROME 18 DORCHESTER 0

DORCHESTER produced one of their worst performances of the season as they fell to yet another defeat in their last game of 2013.

Playing up the slope in the first period, the county town side soon fell behind when a kick failed to find touch and the hosts took advantage of a poor chase to score the opening try.

The visitors had much the better of the game territorially but failed time and again to turn chances into points.

Jamie Morgan missed with a penalty attempt before Frome were successful with a one of their own, giving them a 10-0 lead at the break.

With the advantage of the slope and a slight breeze, the game was there for Dorchester to win but, as in the first half, the visitors were unable to make the most of the numerous chances that they created.

An early penalty stretched Frome’s lead to 13 points and with 10 minutes left the home side closed the game out with a second try.

Once again, there was no lack of commitment or application from Dorchester, just a lack of composure and an inability to make good decisions under pressure.

With no game now until January, Dorchester have the chance to regroup and rediscover that winning formula.
