WEYMOUTH II 60 POOLE 5

WEYMOUTH went try-crazy for the fifth match in a row as they brushed aside Poole with the minimum of fuss at Monmouth Avenue.

It is now nine Dorset & Wilts Two South victories on the spin for Weymouth, though they still sit third in the table behind leaders Dorset Dockers and Lytchett Minster.

Nine different players crossed for tries at the weekend – Weymouth scored 11 in all – with Ryan Lewendon getting one and kicking five conversions.

Joe Gibson and Joel Wilson both bagged a brace of tries each while Sean Murphy, Khylo Farley, Duncan Bezzant, Dean Parker, Will Quick and Billy Hynes also crossed the whitewash.

Poole had no answer to Weymouth’s forward dominance but they did get a consol- ation score with a breakaway try.

The bonus-point triumph moved Weymouth above Elling-ham & Ringwood Seconds and Dorchester Seconds in the table, and next up for the seasiders is a rearranged fixture against their county town rivals.

Victory at Coburg Road this weekend would make it 10 in succession for Weymouth and act as revenge for their defeat to Dorchester at home on the second Saturday of the season.

Meanwhile, the Dockers appear to be heading for the league title after blitzing Ellingham 55-5 to maintain their 100 per cent record this term.
