DORCHESTER have the added incentive of trying to get one over on a World Cup winner tomorrow when they go in search of their first win of the season.

The county town side entertain newly-promoted Bradford-on-Avon at Coburg Road (3pm), and there will be a familiar face in the visitors’ coaching set-up.

Former England captain Lewis Moody, who lifted the William Webb Ellis Trophy in 2003, took over as director of rugby at the Wiltshire club in the summer, more than two years after retiring from playing.

Like Dorchester, results so far this term have not been anything to shout about for Bradford and the 71-times capped international.

However, a return of one losing bonus point from three defeats is still better than Dorchester’s record to date – they remain pointless following a hat-trick of losses in Southern Counties South.

It has been a disappointing start to the campaign for Martyn Peel’s men but this weekend’s fixture is one Dorchester would have targeted to pick up a minimum of four points from.

Assistant coach Rich Bament said: “Strong numbers at training has made for good preparation with the squad determined to put their last outing against Wimborne firmly behind them.

“We won’t be under-estimating Bradford who have appointed former England captain Lewis Moody as their director of rugby”.

Elsewhere in Southern Counties South, Swanage & Wareham go to North Dorset.

In Dorset & Wilts Two South, Dorchester Seconds make the journey to Chapel Gate to tackle Bournemouth Thirds.

Dorchester’s last outing saw them romp to an 83-12 victory over Ellingham & Ringwood Seconds, scoring 12 tries in the process.

With a full squad to pick from, captain Tom Evans has selected a very strong line up and is confident his players will show the same commitment and ruthlessness they showed in their last game.

After a weekend off, Wey-mouth & Portland have home advantage for tomorrow’s clash with New Milton Seconds, also in Two South, while Puddletown host Wimborne Thirds and Bridport visit Salisbury Sec-onds.

Weymouth & Portland Sec-onds are in action at New Milton Thirds in Three South and Bridport Seconds go to Lytchett Minster Seconds in Dorset & Wilts Four (all games kick-off at 3pm).
