KEVIN Leatham will ask his players for more of the same when Weymouth & Portland host Bournemouth Thirds tomorrow (2pm).

The Monmouth Avenue side cruised to a 43-0 victory at Ellingham & Ringwood last Saturday, and a similar performance this weekend would delight skipper Leatham yet again.

Leatham welcomes Steve Nation-Grainger and Gordon Tye back into a squad that has plenty of competition for places across the park.

“We’ve got Bournemouth at our place and we are looking forward to that,” he said. “Hopefully we will play the same as we did last Saturday.

“The lads really gelled against Ellingham & Ringwood, but we’re always looking to improve.

“Everyone has been working hard in training and there is a lot of competition for places.

“We’re going to be doing our best over the next few weeks to get into a good position for the second half of the season.”

Weymouth & Portland sit fifth in the Dorset & Wilts Two South table, seven points behind Puddletown in fourth.

The Villagers could climb to second in the standings tomorrow if they beat hosts Swanage & Wareham Seconds (2.15pm).

Dorchester Seconds and Bridport have it all to do this weekend as they go to second-placed Salisbury Seconds and entertain leaders East Dorset respectively (both 2.15pm).

County town captain Tom Evans was pleased with his side’s performance in their 15-3 loss to Bridport last weekend and felt the scoreline was not a fair reflection of the game.

While Swanage & Wareham go in search of an 11th straight Southern Counties South success when they go to Bradford-on-Avon, Dorchester must put their drubbing by Sherborne behind them for their home clash with Salisbury (both 2.30pm).

In Dorset & Wilts Three South, Weymouth & Portland Sec-onds are nine points adrift at the bottom going into their clash with Bournemouth Fourths (2pm).

And down in Dorset & Wilts Four, a huge test awaits Wey-mouth & Portland Thirds in the shape of leaders Wincanton.

But if they slip up, Dorchester Thirds could replace them in first place if they see off Lytchett Minster Seconds (both 2.15pm).

Nick Hodge’s side are looking for the double over their opponents who they defeated 19-5 in October.

Meanwhile, the women’s World Cup trophy is to visit Swanage & Wareham’s Bestwall ground tonight (6.30pm).

Accompanying it will be current England women’s under-20 head coach Jo Yapp, who competed in three World Cup campaigns and won 70 international caps.

England beat Canada 21-9 in this year’s final and the visit to Bestwall is part of the Dorset & Wilts women and girls’ player development programme.

Twin Counties president John Constable said: “All girls and women will be made welcome and can have their picture taken with the cup.

“There will be an introduction to rugby session with Jo and any girl can take part.”
