DORCHESTER 10 SALISBURY 67
DORCHESTER fell to another heavy defeat as once again the gap between the top four sides and the rest in Southern Counties South was all too evident.
Salisbury missed a simple penalty chance to go in front , while Dorchester failed to make the most of two excellent try-scoring opportunities.
The visitors did open the scoring with an interception try, then home side kicker Jamie Morgan was off target with a straight forward penalty attempt.
Despite Dorchester’s best efforts, the visitors scored tries at regular intervals and led 30-0 at the break.
Martyn Peel’s men redoubled their efforts in the second period but could do little to stem the tide as Salisbury added a further six tries.
For their part, the hosts did have several good periods of attacking play and scored two tries themselves.
Scrum-half Lewis Allan sprinted over following a series of strong carries by the forwards and Callum King picked off a stray pass to outpace the Salisbury defence from 40 metres out.
It doesn’t get any easier for Dorchester as they travel to Walcot this Saturday.
Dorchester: Cottell, Pengelly, Hodgson, Jones, Makepeace, Gower, Newsam, Hallett, Allan, Toms, Morgan, Harvey, Deakin, Moss, Clark. Reps used: Bamlet, King
