DORCHESTER RFC have announced the appointment of Paul Dunne as the club’s head coach ahead of the 2015/16 season.

Dunne, replaces Martyn Peel, who stepped down from the position at the end of last season but will continue to be involved within the county town side’s senior coaching structure.

Dunne, a teacher at Bryanston School, has been coaching for nine years.

He was previously at Bournemouth RFC whom he coached in National League Two south, as well as London Irish.

Dorchester vice-chairman Martin Bartlett said: “We are extremely fortunate that Paul has agreed to coach at Dorchester.

“He was by far the best candidate we interviewed and I have been very impressed with his ideas and views on how he would like to carry his role.

“I know he is looking forward to pre-season and the competitive season already”

A players’ meeting has also been called at the club on Tuesday, June 30 (7pm) where Dunne will meet the squad for first time.

All current, past and new players are invited to attend and listen to Dunne’s plans for the coming season.

Pre-season training starts on Thursday, July 2 at 7pm.
