WEYMOUTH & Portland will be looking to make it a hat-trick of wins to kick off their Dorset & Wilts Two South campaign.

They will travel to Fordingbridge Seconds in Dorset & Wilts Two South today (3pm).

The Monmouth Avenue outfit, who have racked up victories over Poole and Ellingham & Ringwood Seconds in their opening two fixtures, take on a Fordingbridge side that shipped 65 points without reply at Puddletown last Saturday.

The Seaside club, who have claimed a bonus point from their opening two displays, sit a point behind leaders New Milton Seconds, who are yet to concede a point so far in this new season.

With promotion from the division in his sights this term, Weymouth & Portland club captain Kevin Leatham insists there is still room for improvement.

He said: “There are still things to iron out and work on, as there always are, but hopefully we can improve and be a lot more clinical than we were last week, especially in the set-piece and our decision-making. We have been concentrating on that in training and hopefully it will pay off.

“In this league you never know who you are going to face until you get there. Whoever travels is not necessarily who you will play at home.”

Quizzed on the side’s prospects of promotion, he added: “That’s what we are aiming for. We easily have a good enough squad in the first team and in the second team as well. There have been great numbers in training.”

Head coach Paul Harding added: “I am sure Fordingbridge will be stronger at home but we will go in with a good side.”

Ade Walker is unavailable for the visitors this week but James Borrington is set to return. Centre Joel Wilson is hopeful of overcoming a knee injury to take his place and Carl Neal is set to feature on the wing. Meanwhile, Dorchester, who were reported to have scratched against Devizes last weekend, are set to host Wimborne in Southern Counties South today (3pm).
