HEAD coach Paul Dunne is hoping that he will finally get a proper chance to see what his Dorchester side is made of during their run of games between now and Christmas.

With breaks for cup competitions and the World Cup, Dorchester, like the other teams in Southern Counties South, have only played five league fixtures since the opening day of the season on September 12.

And with the county town outfit forfeiting their clash at Devizes on matchday two because they couldn’t raise a side, they have actually taken to the field just four times so far this term.

They host Marlborough at Coburg Road tomorrow (2.30pm), the first of six outings in the next seven weekends.

“It has been really hard,” said Dunne.

“We’ve got a run of games coming up now but so far we’ve had every second weekend off.

“Hopefully we can now get a bit of momentum and find out where we are in this league.

“We were very disappointing in our last game at Frome but we’re home this weekend and that makes a bit of difference.

“It’s been bitty up to now and we couldn’t get a team out against Devizes which was a disaster, but we had a good win against Bradford- on-Avon after that.”

Dunne will be without Dave Clarke for tomorrow’s contest, and the next four to six weeks, after the latter suffered ligament damage against Frome.

Marcus Evans is also unavailable this weekend following a broken nose in the same match.

Elsewhere, in South West One East, winless Swanage & Wareham host Windsor (2.15pm), who have won their last four.

Meanwhile, Dorset & Wilts Two South leaders Weymouth & Portland entertain neighbours Dorchester Seconds in a Ridgeway derby at Monmouth Avenue (2.30pm).

Ten places and 24 points separate the two sides, with Dorchester still pointless after five outings.

In the same division, fifth-placed Bridport welcome rock bottom Fordingbridge Seconds to the Brewery Field (2.30pm) and Puddletown go to high-flying Yeovil (2.30pm).

After cancelling three fixtures in Dorset & Wilts Three South, Dorchester Thirds are already 35 points behind leaders Oakmeadians Seconds, who they host tomorrow (2.15pm).

Finally, Bridport Seconds travel to Ellingham & Ringwood Thirds and Weymouth & Portland Seconds go to Swanage & Wareham Fourths in Dorset & Wilts Four (both 2.15pm).
