WEYMOUTH & Portland plan to return to winning ways tomorrow following their setback at New Milton last weekend.

The Seasiders host North Dorset Thirds at Monmouth Avenue (2.15pm) having dropped from second to fourth in Dorset & Wilts Two South after that 21-12 loss in Hampshire.

The last time Weymouth & Portland met North Dorset, at Slaughtergate in October, Paul Harding’s men returned with a 29-0 victory.

But head coach Harding says complacency will not be an issue this time around.

“Although we have already beaten North Dorset at their place it does not mean they will be a walkover at ours,” he said.

“With the weather as it is if either their first or second team fixture is cancelled they could bolster their thirds with senior players and we could find ourselves up against a much stronger team, so we will have to prepare for a hard game.”

He added: “I have no complaints with our performance against New Milton.

“I was expecting a close game as they were a tidy outfit when we played them at home and that is exactly what happened.

“We had enough chances to snatch a win, but try as we did we just couldn’t break their defence, despite all of the pressure we put on them.”

Centre Joel Wilson, numbereight Sean Murphy and wing Karl Neal are all back into contention for the visitors and hooker James Borrington is due to undergo a fitness test on a calf strain.

Meanwhile, Weymouth & Portland Seconds travel to Wiltshire to lock horns with Salisbury Fourths in Dorset & Wilts Four.

And on Sunday, the Seasiders’ under-17 colts host Swanage & Wareham in the final of the Dorset & Wilts Plate (2pm).

Elsewhere on Saturday, there is a big game for Dorchester in Southern Counties South when they host Frome at Coburg Road (2.15pm).

Frome are the next team above last-placed Dorchester in the table and won for the third time this season last Saturday.

While Dorchester were losing 22-10 at Bradford-on-Avon, Frome were impressively seeing off Devizes 17-7.

In South West One East, Swanage & Wareham also have a good chance of picking up points at home against High Wycombe (2.15pm).

Back in Two South, Bridport host Ellingham & Ringwood Seconds and Puddletown entertain Dorchester Seconds, while Dorchester Thirds host Swanage & Wareham Thirds in Three South.
