WEYMOUTH & Portland head coach Paul Harding insists if his troops keep up their impressive form they will give title-rivals Yeovil a “much tougher game” on their own patch in Dorset & Wilts Two South next month.

The Monmouth Avenue club are currently second, seven points behind leaders Yeovil at present coming off the back of a whopping 53-0 derby win at Dorchester Seconds last Saturday.

With Weymouth & Portland set to face up against Yeovil, who beat them 33-7 earlier in the campaign, on March 5. Harding believes his side’s chances are much better this time around.

He said: “All we can do is worry about what we do and that’s trying to win games. We lost one fair and square against New Milton which is probably our disappointing result of the season. We just didn’t play well that day.

“Apart from that we have performed pretty well all season. The game against Yeovil there, they were better than us, there are no questions about it.

“But, if we can play the way we are playing at the moment, we will give them a much tougher game at our place.”

Harding also gave an update on captain Kevin Leatham, who was ruled out last week with a thumb injury. He added: “We are still waiting to see, the plaster comes off next week and fingers crossed we will get him back soon.”
