WEYMOUTH & Portland and Dorchester will be renewing old acquaintances at senior level for the first time since the Seasiders pulled out of the Southern Counties league a few years ago.
The side, who finished runners up in Dorset & Wilts Division Two behind champions Yeovil, had their promotion hopes confirmed at the South West regional league administrators meeting on Sunday evening while Dorchester were relegated into Dorset & Wilts Division One from the Southern Counties league after ending their season rooted to the foot of the table.
The Seasiders' head coach Paul Harding said: "Brilliant, it's great news, there has been rumours circulating, but we kept quiet until it had been rubber stamped by the powers that be.
"As where we are at the moment I would say that we will have to raise our game to compete in this division.
"We struggled against Yeovil this season and I would say that despite being relegated Dorchester are in front of us, so we will have to put in the hard yards in pre-season training and hit the ground running if we are to survive."
