DORSET showjumper Yazmin Davis has huge reason to celebrate after a successful competition on one of the world’s top stages.

The talented young rider, from Blandford, finished third in the World Class Under-23 Championship, at Olympia on Saturday.

On board her horse Zilverster II, Davis was one of only three riders in a field of 24 competitors in her class to go clear in the first round on the course, with fences measuring 1.5 metres.

With a range of top riders in the under-23 scene having qualified from the Premier BSJA shows, Davis was delighted to secure a top-three placing.

The age group was won by Olympic reserve rider, Jess Mendosa. Second, ahead of Davis, was Jack Whitaker, son of legendary showjumper Michael Whitaker.

Davis is currently sponsored by RICOH, Devcoux Saddles, Premier Food Courts, Uvex and Red Mills Horsefeeds.
