THIS weekend sees both Dorchester’s senior sides in league action with rearranged fixtures following the recently postponed games.

The first XV welcome Lytchett Minster back in Dorset & Wilts One South action while the second XV travel to Netherhampton to lock horns with Wheatsheaf Cabin Crew in a Two South fixture.

The seniors are keen to keep the good form going and push for a top-three finish.

Another strong squad is named, with delayed first XV debuts for Sandy Sanderson and Brad Mullins, while Luke Robson returns to the squad.

Jake Bosher also returns after injury to replace Dave Clarke who has a broken leg and who is likely out for the remainder of the season. Kick-off is 2.15pm.

The seconds travel away again and have new faces in the squad.

Captain Rob Parker welcomes in William Hawke, Syd Hosie and Laurie Miller and former county town player Kieran Woodbridge makes a return to the club.

With a strong pack assembled and some big ball carriers it will no doubt be another hard-fought game for the squad.

Coach Ben Parker said: “Availability has been a challenge this week.

“The re-scheduled game fell on a free weekend with several players being away.

“However, the strength and depth of the squad has allowed us to put out two strong teams, which is fantastic.

“With Yeovil on the horizon, this has provided us with a great opportunity to run out some young talent in preparation for the upcoming games.

“We must dominate this fixture to continue on from last weekend and nothing but a five-point win is expected and maximum points to continue our target of third in the league.”

Other games over the weekend at the club are Minis versus Bournemouth, the under-15s take on Trowbridge and the girls’ squad have training.

Sunday afternoon see the Colts against North Dorset in a strong local derby.
