TWICKENHAM beckons for Thomas Hardye School as they take on Dr Challoner’s Grammar School in the NatWest Under-15s Vase final this morning at the home of English rugby (11am).

The Dorchester-based side have advanced through the seven previous rounds in rather convincing fashion, and team coach Chris Goulding has enjoyed the journey so far.

He said: “The NatWest Vase started in September, and we’re undefeated so far as it’s a knockout competition.

“Last Saturday was the semi-final at Allianz Park (home of the Saracens), the game before we played at Dorchester RFC, and the round before we played in Penzance at the Cornish Pirates ground, which was a great day out for us.”

Heading on to today’s final, Goulding is adamant his side need to just focus on themselves if they are to get a result at Twickenham

He said: “We’ve done as much training as we can.

“We’ll leave the hotel at 9.30am, get to the stadium at 10, before doing team photos on the pitch and getting our heads on for the game.

“We’ve seen the other team play but we aren’t worried about what they can do, we’re just focusing on our game-plan, and if we can play as well as we’re capable of then we hope it’ll be good enough for a victory on the day.”
