Dominant Seconds move up to fifth

WEYMOUTH II 25 BLANDFORD II 3

WEYMOUTH Seconds climbed to fifth in Dorset & Wilts Three South thanks to a 25-3 success over Blandford Seconds at Monmouth Avenue.

The Seasiders started strongly and were soon awarded a penalty directly in front of the posts which was duly converted by Dan Cree.

Weymouth continued to dominate from the restart, pushing Blandford back in their own half, and after good build up play Chris Davis was able to cross the line for a well-deserved try.

As half-time approached, Blandford converted a penalty to bring the score to 8-3 in the home side’s favour.

Weymouth captain John Beare made changes at the break to ensure everyone played their part in the game. And the replacements continued in the same vein as Weymouth dominated in all areas.

The Seasiders added further tries from Cree and Tom Smethurst, the second of which being converted by Ryan Lewendon, before Josh Docherty crossed the whitewash to seal victory for Weymouth.
