BEST SHOW OF THE SEASON: Weymouth Seconds before their clash with Puddletown
Dorset & Wilts Three South
WEYMOUTH II 43 PUDDLETOWN II 18
WEYMOUTH put in one of their best performances of the season against a well-organised Puddletown side.
The hosts got of to a flying start with scrum-half Adam Poole scoring the first of his two tries in the opening minutes of the game.
His solo effort was beaten in style when full-back Darren Mounts scored a stunning individual try of his own. Receiving the ball near his own 22, he ran through the entire visiting team to score under the posts.
Puddletown kept pressurising but only managed to convert their efforts into a couple of penalties.
Weymouth played with a freedom that they have promised for some time with the forwards bullying the visitors and with some clever tactical kicking assumed control of the game.
The hosts then made changes at the interval but the continuity remained and they added to their first half tally with Mounts scoring his second try of the game.

Further scores came from James Hughes after some sterling forward work and a breakaway try was finished off by Clive Francis after good pressure from the back line.
Fly-half Nathan Allen added to his good game with the boot by converting all but one of the conversions. Puddletown earned a consolation try in the corner in the dying moments.
With the noticeable absence of the dominating figure of captain John Beare stand-in skipper Andy Thorne was only too happy to report his side's fantastic display.
