PUDDLETOWN were left reeling after two crucial decisions by the referee went against them at North Dorset II.
The hosts continued their recent good run of form in Dorset & Wilts One South but the Villagers could be excused for feeling aggrieved with the final result given debatable refereeing decisions that ultimately saw them miss out on a try and North Dorset controversially awarded the winning score.
A close game throughout was reflected in the 12-12 scoreline midway through the second half, with the Villagers' two tries coming via Martin Spicer and captain Pete Gordon, and a solitary conversion from Dan Udell.

Puddletown thought they had broken the deadlock with a perfectly executed catch and drive from their forwards to score, but to everyone's surprise the referee thought differently, claiming his vision was impaired thus allowing the home side to eventually clear their lines.
The visitors' disappointment was later compounded by a North Dorset breakaway kick from deep in their own half.
The chasing home winger appeared to have put a foot in touch prior to touching down but the score was given and proved to be the winning try.
