DORCHESTER coach Chris Burton has described tomorrow's clash with Corsham at Coburg Road (3pm) as their "last opportunity" to avoid the drop.

The county town side lie rock bottom in Southern Counties South but are just three points behind fourth from bottom Corsham.

After losing last week's crucial game at fellow strugglers Devizes, tomorrow could prove to be the last-chance saloon for Burton's men.

He said: "We are still in with a chance of survival but the game against Corhsam is really our last opportunity.

"We threw it away against Devizes and we can't afford to let that happen again. We lost our discipline with 15 minutes to go so that must not happen again either. As long as the players can keep their shape then we have got a chance of getting the right result."

Burton's side has just four games left to save their Southern Counties South status, starting tomorrow.

Matt Read, 22, is back in contention but long-term injury sufferers Daffyd Wright, Damien Weston, Matt Chalker and George Damen are expected to miss out.

Weymouth visit Puddletown in a Dorset & Wilts One South local derby tomorrow (2.30pm).

The Seasiders occupy third spot in the table by virtue of a better points difference than Bridport, so victory at Greenfields is crucial if they are to have any hopes of promotion.

Captain Tony Worle said: "Although it's a derby there is no animosity between the two sides so we are expecting a good game.

"We are confident going into the match but wary at the same time because after a bad start to the season Puddletown have been improving so we won't be taking anything for granted."

Anthony Cowburn is representing the British Army in their rugby league Challenge Cup third round tie against Oldham so Andy Wood will come into an otherwise unchanged side.

The Villagers meanwhile, will be looking to avenge September's 50-3 thrashing at Monmouth Avenue.

Swanage & Wareham travel to third-placed Salisbury tomorrow (3pm) knowing that defeat could spell the end of their South West Two East title hopes should leaders Chippenham beat Walcot.

The Swans sit one point behind Chippenham with four games left of the campaign.
