SEASIDERS' SUCCESS: Weymouth line up before their friendly win over Streatham & Croydon
WEYMOUTH XV 29
STREATHAM & CROYDON XV 12
WEYMOUTH took on touring Streatham & Croydon and came out on top - scoring five tries.
It was the visiting team who started the strongest and scored the first try of the afternoon from an overlap on the far side of the pitch, but they were unable to complete the conversion.
Weymouth replied almost immediately when James Borring-ton rounded off a wonderful flowing move to cross the whitewash and level the scores.
The home side then stepped up a gear and there were some crunching tackles from veterans Edward Annuals, Paul Harding and Anthony Cowburn.
Weymouth were duly rewarded for their hard work with a try just before half-time, scored by Tim Peplow and converted by Ryan Lewendon.
After making wholesale changes for the second period the tourists sneaked through the Weymouth defence to score a try under the posts, which they converted.

The Seasiders set up camp in the opposition's 22 and it was Borrington again who crossed the line to score for Weymouth.
The visitors were beginning to run out of steam and the hosts capitalised to score with the move of the match. John Leatham made a 60-metre dash before passing to Peplow who was able to touch down.
And Weymouth rounded things off with a try from Craig Gelderd which Lewendon kicked over.
