WEYMOUTH Wildcats are set to get back in the saddle tomorrow night in a four-team tournament meeting, set to be held at the Isle of Wight’s Smallbrook Stadium (7pm).

As well as the hosting Isle of Wight Warriors, Southampton and Exeter provide the opposition for the Weymouth outfit, set to be managed by Jamie Dixon.

The Wildcats, who are still looking for a new home on their own patch, have also had to make a late change to their line-up for the event.

Richard Andrews, who was set to once again represent the former Radipole Lane-based club, has been ruled out of the meeting after suffering a broken scaphoid. That means that King’s Lynn charger Scott Campos is set to step in.

In a statement on the Wildcats’ Facebook page, manager Jamie Dixon said: “I have worked with Scott in the past when working with the American Dream team as a mechanic and he is a genuine, nice guy.

“I’m happy to have him on board and know he will do the best he can to score a high number of points for us.

“I would like to say a huge get well soon to Richard Andrews and hope he has a speedy recovery.”

Campos is set to join up with James Cockle, George Piper and Layne Cupitt to make up the quartet.

Speaking ahead of the meeting on behalf of the club, Martin Peters told Echosport: “It has taken a little while to come around but we are really looking forward to it.

“I was even named after a rider back in the day (Martin Yeates).

“I have quite a connection with Weymouth Speedway and now my son is doing it as well.”
