WEYMOUTH Wildcats have been forced to tinker with their line-up for the side’s upcoming trip to face the Isle of Wight Warriors on Thursday.

The former Radipole Lane outfit, who are set to compete in their first seven-man meeting since their return to the track earlier this summer, have lost the services of Tom Bacon.

Bacon suffered a “nasty” double metatarsal break while riding in the meet between Birmingham Brummies and Rye House.

Reacting to the spill, he posted on his Twitter page: “Really nasty one tonight, have fractured two metatarsals in my right foot, very painful, have to thank the paramedics who were great!”

However, the Wildcats managed to act quickly after learning about Bacon’s injury by bringing in Shaun Tedham in his position. Tedham had been recommended to the side by Ben Hopwood.

A post on the Wildcats’ Facebook page said: “The team at Weymouth Wildcats would like to send their best wishes to Tom and hope he has a quick and 100 per cent recovery.

“With this news we have had to look for a replacement and he has been found, please welcome to the team Shaun Tedham.

“This rider was advised to us by Ben Hopwood and we have every faith he will give it his all, when speaking to Shaun he told manager Jamie Dixon he was really excited for the opportunity.”

Current Cats’ line-up: Hopwood, Mason, Priest, Tedham, Ayres, Purchase, Cupitt
