WEYMOUTH Wildcats co-promoter Martin Peters feels the Cats’ upcoming meeting with newly-crowned Southern Development League champions Reading Racers tomorrow will be “hard”.

With selection again an issue, Peters is still looking for riders on the eve of the meeting, with only Chris Bambury and Craig Nethercott confirmed thus far.

He told Echosport: “We’ve been trying to get riders again, it’s a little bit of a struggle.

“Reading are very strong and they’ve won the league on Monday so I’m sure they will be overjoyed. They are missing a few riders from their normal team but it’s going to be hard.

“No-one else has beaten them this year so it will be hard especially not knowing what the team is in advance.”

But Peters is confident the Wildcats will ride with the full quota of racers.

“We’re looking around trying to find some stronger riders to go in there. None of us want a whitewash really.

“People watching don’t want to see that. We’re looking around and we’re still hoping a few could ride for us. We should have the full amount of riders whatever happens,” he said.
