WEYMOUTH Wildcats host Kent tomorrow at the Arlington Stadium in Eastbourne, looking to get their first win of the season under their belt in the Southern Development League.

They face a Kent side boosted by two National League reserve riders in the form of Jacob Clouting and Alex Spooner but who, like the Wildcats, are yet to pick up a win so far this season.

Wildcats have named Luke Barnes, Connor Fletcher plus Jacob and Bailey Fellows to ride against Kent, and will maintain the team for a friendly in Peterborough on Sunday.

The Fellows duo return to the side having finished with their exams.

Co-promoter Martin Peters said: “We are looking forward to tomorrow, we have got the team back with Bailey and Jacob finishing their exams so they can ride again.

“We are going to give it a good go and see if we can get some points. It is going to be hard.”

Peters acknowledged their winless results from their first two matches in the league so far.

Peters said: “We want to try and win, it would be great to win because it is not going to be very nice going throughout the season without a win. We are going to aim for that win and the riders do the best and if they want to progress in the sport that is what they have got to aim for.

“It shows them that is where they need to be, at that level.”

When asked if the team are concerned about facing the National League reserve riders Peters said: “They are not phased by it, they do not care who they ride against. They are just like well if we get out in front then they will not come past and that is their attitude.

“They are all confident and the lads are itching to go.”
