WEYMOUTH Doonan Wildcats have completed their line-up for the upcoming season with the capture of Alex McLeod.
The Wareham youngster has signed for a second season and will once again don the Wildcats’ number eight race jacket.
Team manager Jem Dicken is delighted to have added another rider to the club’s asset base and predicts that, by the start of the National League campaign, at least six of this season’s team will be owned by the Wessex Bus Raceway outfit.
He said: “Alex has attended the winter training days and has also ridden in open meetings at the Wessex Bus Raceway. He was a squad member last season and he’s been appreciative of the opportunities given to him and is more than happy to pledge his future to the Wildcats.”
Supporters will be able to get a first glimpse of the 2009 line-up at the Wildcats’ Press and Practice Day on Saturday, April 4.
And they can see their new heroes in action on Good Friday – Friday, April 10 – in a challenge meeting with the Isle of Wight Islanders.
Following that, the Wildcats visit Isle of Wight for a return meeting on Tuesday, April 21 before fighting it out with rivals the Plymouth Devils for the Devon & Dorset Trophy.
The first leg will take place at the St Boniface Arena on Friday, April 24 with the deciding leg at the Wessex Bus Raceway 24 hours later.
