JON Armstrong has been left frustrated yet again after being made to wait another two weeks to discover the extent of his knee injury.
The Mighty Midget, who has been out of action for the Weymouth Wildcats since April 21, had hoped to undergo a knee arthroscopy on Monday.
However, he has been forced to wait a little while longer for a diagnosis, with cartilage or cruciate ligament damage the possible verdicts.
Armstrong, who missed the majority of the 2008 season after breaking his leg in the Conference Pairs, said: “I’ve got to go back in another two weeks and just see what happens then. There’s been no diagnosis and no surgery yet so I’m still in limbo.
“If I’d have gone private then it would have been done and dusted but it’s far too expensive so I’ve got to go through all the NHS procedures.
“It’s not good to be left waiting as I need to know what’s going on because I need to start earning some money. Hopefully the next appointment in two weeks will sport it out and put me back on the road to recovery.
“If they decide it’s cartilage I’ll be back in a matter of weeks but if it’s cruciate damage then I’ll be out for the year.”
The Wildcats are next in action on Thursday, July 2, when they take a 16-point lead to the Bournemouth Buccaneers for the second leg of their Knockout Cup tie.
