THE release of this year’s fixtures has whetted the appetite of Weymouth Weyline Wildcats’ chairman Phil Bartlett, who is hoping to lead his team to glory this term.
The Wildcats get the new season underway with the visit of Team Vikings on Good Friday while their first National League encounter sees them travel to last year’s champions the Bournemouth Buccaneers on Sunday, April 11.
Prior to those two clashes, the Weymouth club will hold its annual Press & Practice Season Launch on Friday, March 26 when members of the 2010 squad will be paraded.
And with only three weeks to go until the opening race, the excitement is building at the Wessex Stadium.
Bartlett said: “The Vikings will give us a good test and it’s certainly not an easy one to start the season.
“Plenty of work has gone into the club since October and it’s crazy that the season is almost upon us.
“Hopefully we’ll be up there challenging for honours once again. We’ve got a good team and I’m really excited going into the new campaign.
“After finishing second in the table last season, and second in the National Trophy, we’ll be looking to go one better this year.”
Season ticket details have also been released with supporters being offered a new deal this year.
Anyone who buys a season ticket will not only gain entry to all meetings – excluding BSPA shared events – at the Wessex Stadium, but also receive free car parking and a free programme each week, which amounts to a saving of £100 altogether.
Adult season tickets cost £225 with concessions and children aged 11-16 priced at £175 and £75 respectively.
To purchase a season ticket contact 07841042475 or visit the track during the final two training schools, which are being held tomorrow night and on March 19, or the launch night on March 26.
Bartlett, who has praised the support of local businesses, added: “We’ve still got limited sponsorship and advertising packages available so anyone interested can contact me on 07841042475.”
